Julia B. Lyons, PhD is a clinical psychologist with many years of therapeutic and neuropsychological assessment experience working with children, adolescents, and their families.

 

Dr. Lyons has experience and expertise in working with mood and anxiety issues, psychotic disorders, developmental disorders, and those issues arising from loss and trauma. She also has extensive personal experience in music, theater, and the arts and uses this acumen to inform and enliven her treatment, when appropriate.

She received her Bachelor of Arts from Yale University as a double English and Intensive Psychology Major. Dr. Lyons went on to earn a Masters and Doctoral degree in Clinical and Developmental Psychology from New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.  During her training, Dr. Lyons externed at the Bankstreet School for Children and the Columbia Presbyterian Children’s Hospital and interned at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

 

She completed her post doctoral training at the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut and has practiced locally since that time, providing both inpatient and outpatient mental health services.
